So, Blue's run is over abruptly.
Red will have to pick up the slack and defeat the league for the both of them.
...but then the shock reveal comes after she defeats Lance.
"Congratulations champion! ....well, that's what I would say, Red, but someone has already beaten the league. They're the true champion, and your final opponent..."
She doesn't recognise him at first thanks to the skinhead, rippling muscles and tattoos... but it's Blue. Prison day-release programme, pokémon mentorship and being convicted for a crime that wasn't his fault has led to Blue becoming the most powerful trainer in the land and now he wants revenge...

Pewter City Rocks is both a slogan and a declaration of the mascot of every sport team the city may have. They do love rocks. Their main industry is probably quarrying stone in the mountains nearby.

Red was anticipating that someone might catch them, she just didn't prepare for Blue to be such a weenie and not keep up with her.
Next arc: Red and Blue hold a contest to see who can hold more rocks in their mouth at once. It's like the marshmallow challenge but a thousand times worse.
Blue's ability is not Run Away, he couldn't get away.
A new pokemon game coming out and the Holidays happening sure can destroy a schedule.
Today is my nuzlocke anniversary! This marks ...7 years... of Kurukkoo! I think I will crumble to dust before I finish this comic, but at no point do I ever regret working on it. All the time spent is time well spent, and as of this moment I still have plenty more time I wish to spend here.

Congrats on 7 years! I just caught up with this comic and it was as much a treat the second time around as the first. I love the personality you give to the various pokemon, and the way that they're always up to shenanigans in the background of the human-focused pages. I also enjoy the dimension between our two main characters! They feel like believable friends and it's fun to see them play with each other and get on one another's nerves.
I especially like Blue's character--very knowledge-focused and driven, but he has a softer side seen with Reepicheep. His interactions with his little rat are adorable! And seeing Red's strained relationship with her father and well-meaning-but-seems-to-be-overbearing mother adds a human dimension to the comic. Overall, great work!
And don't think I didn't see that mew at the end of last chapter!
